FINNISHED!
Valtaajat workshop
Today I was sooo happy to "throw a workshop" for the Valtaajat group. We had music, snacks and a lot of creativity...as you can see.
Winter Is Coming
We did a quick visit to Tampere from Saturday to Sunday. I brought some RokRokInc. Jewelries to a friends friends yoga place called "Lentävä Matto" to sell. The place is totally cute and the owner totally great. ?
And during this 24 hours the winter came. Totally quickly. I had no winter shoes or a winter jacket with me. ...And no winter tyres... But luckily the highway was not bad to drive.
New Colors in Tassel Earrings
Tassel earrings are a classic. I found great new fall coloured leather jackets from flea markets here in Helsinki and added some new colours in the tassel earring selection.
Helsinki Artisan Fair
Last weekend I joined the Helsinki Artisan Fair with my new artisan friend Marjaliisa who makes bags and bracelets from old zippers with the label Plyymienkeli.
The fair itself was totally outdated and not a big success but it was great to get to know Marjaliisa a bit better. We figured that out products go quite well together and so we could maybe join forces again during the Xmas season. :)
But what is nice is that RokRokInc. got in to the blogger TOP 3 from the artisan fair. In top three there's also the gay matryoshka Tomppa. Check it out the blog Estetiikkaa ja eskapismia even if it's in Finnish (Tomppa is really cool).

Helsinki Night Market @ Teurastamo
The event season I started with the Helsinki Night Market on 21.-22.8. On Thursday it was the Night of the Arts in Helsinki and the Teurastamo* area joined the party with night market with music and food trucks.
The atmosphere was superb and it was a great event: relaxed feeling and happy people. More happenings like this! And for RokRokInc. It was a joyful two evenings since I emptied my storage boxes a bit and can now start making new stuff asap!
And by the way, did anyone notice that on Friday I wasn’t there myself? I had made some double bookings for my weekend activities, so my already experienced sales help Sonja filled in. Didn’t notice at all? Well, I don’t wonder. …Or maybe you met her already before and weren’t surprised at all. That’s good.
*Teurastamo is kind of a cultural area on the more rugged side of the Helsinki – the Helsinki I love. I recommend.
Here I go again! Fun people, great location and cool event.
My little helpers. Maybe you met Sonja (in front) already before.
Many many new colours and designs!
Summer 2015
Summer went by so fast – like always. I started my holidays with the UK tour that included: 1. partying with dear friends in London 2. partying with my better half in Glastonbury festival and 3. partying with great Glasgow-hunks in Scotland. Then we had visitors and some more visitors and a little more party and the long two months Finnish summer was gone. (By the way weather-wise it was the crappiest summer ever. Thanks god we at least happened to visit in the always sunny Scotland, haha.)
I didn’t have much time for RokRokInc. (In addition to that I found some great new materials from flea markets.) But now I’m starting to get back to normal life: work work, craft craft, work work, party
HIGHLIGHTS OF MY SUMMER
Enjoying Finland with several guests.
Crafting with my goddaughter.
Beautiful Scotland.
GLASTONBURY – FINALLY!
London baby yeah!
Finally in Instagram!
Finally I got it done: to open the Instagram account for RokRokInc. And actually it's quite convenient. I can easily take snap shots of new or upcoming products and post them quickly in Instagram and Facebook. (At the same time once in a while I might have also something else in the pictures as Ansku. Like below here one picture is from my work team at the office.)
Though it still doesn't help my ultimate problem that is to find time to shoot new product pictures for this web shop. But, if you're interested in some of the new products that are in Facebook or Instagram you are very welcome to just send a message and ask for that piece. ...Sometimes this and that will never even have the chance to find their way to the web shop.
Anyhow: do follow or tag pics of RokRokInc. in Instagram: @rokrokinc / #rokrokinc / www.instagram.com/rokrokinc (Or in Facebook: www.facebook.com/rokrokinc or in Pinterest: www.pinterest.com/rokrokinc.)
80's colours
It's me myself saying but I had the greatest idea to mix puzzles, matt black paint and colourful nail polish. And yes, it smells like hell in my flat and I also have a colourful bathroom (despite the covers) but these will be sooo cool. A bit 80's style bright colours and voilá! They look so delicious I could eat them.
Choices Choices
I'm taking part in a big big recycling fair in April in Helsinki. And now I should draft some kind of introduction of RokRokInc. for that. Last Saturday – in between enjoying some tasty wine – I took some photos for that. Now it's just so hard to decide which one would be the best. Any opinions?
My Recycling Story – How It All Began
"Don't you throw it away – you never know when and how you can still use it!" said my grand mom always. And I guess it began already then. ...I mean my material hoarding, creative recycling and crafting.
Right after I could make something I used to spend hours and hours in my grand mom's sewing room that had maybe one square meter space. The one wall was shelf from floor to ceiling and full with cloth in beautiful colours. And the morning light, beaming from the little window, would make the colours even sweeter. It was magical! I still get this relaxing feeling when I make things.
My first own creations were 90's big hit: hair scrunchies. Then a bit later I became the official jeans repairer for my friends and started modifying old clothes. Together with my grand mom I was practising sewing and with her help I even made some pretty serious mini skirts and party tops. And the great thing was that she never questioned my style or my creative vision. She was just happy to help and teach. Though we never used any real techniques or design models. ...I still can't utilise instructions. I believe in try and error and making it by heart.
Me and my recycling mentor oh so many years ago.
